About Teachers Teachers

Teachers at Yoga-Yoga

Louise Cashin established Yoga-Yoga in December 2001 and over the years has taught Yoga in conjunction with and in support of many other teachers. From 2011 Yoga-Yoga classes and workshops will be primarily led by Louise with occasional guest teachers. When Louise is not around her regular classes are covered by lovely teachers whose details are given below.

Louise Cashin

I have practised Yoga for over 25 years and taught since 2002, I believe Yoga isn’t just something you do on your mat with a teacher but a lifestyle, a whole way of living and thinking. "I encourage my students to do a little bit of Yoga everyday! Whether that is 15 minutes of asana practice or Yoga breathing in bed before sleep; mindfulness practices around emotional wellbeing during a busy day at work or my Yoga- at- your- desk- programme for office bound Yogis." In my classes I emphasise the importance of relaxation and breathing in every moment! And am very keen on encouraging students to be aware of sensations in their bodies as they move and hold postures. Correct alignment in postures is important to me and I enjoy teaching fluid movement synchronised with the breath.

I have worked with many different methods of Hatha Yoga and tend to integrate techniques from different styles to provide for the specific needs of an individual or group. I also teach Yoga one to one or in small groups for therapeutic purposes and am convinced of its nurturing and healing powers. My major influencers are Swami Vishnudevananda (1927-1993) the founder of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres, Judith Hanson Lasater with whom I trained in Restorative Yoga and Experiential Anatomy and Donna Farhi who I completed an Advanced Yoga studies teaching course with and continue to study with. I attend regular teaching intensives with world class teachers as part of my commitment to continued professional development.

In terms of qualifications, I am a British Wheel of Yoga Diploma teacher, a Sivananda Yoga teacher and have completed Yoga Therapy teacher training. I have further qualifications to teach Pre and Postnatal Yoga, this training is with Birthlight with Dr. Francoise Freedman and I have also worked with Dr Gowri Motha (Gentle Birth Method) Since 2003 I have specialised in the area of pregnancy and birth and completed further qualifications to work with birthing mothers. I trained with Shakta Kaur Khalsa (senior Kundalini Yoga teacher) and completed both Level 1 and 2 of the Radiant Child Programme and with Swami Saradananda to qualify as a teacher of Meditation.

In addition to Yoga, I am a personal coach (since 1995) providing coaching in the area of stress management, work-life balance and healthy lifestyle; I also work with people especially women on cultivating success in the workplace. I am an Ayurvedic Nutrition Advisor and provide health/dietary consultations. I am also affiliated to a Management Development Training organisation providing improved performance coaching in the workplace. Please feel free to email me directly at Yoga-Yoga if you require further information and if you are interested in my work and experience in the corporate world then look me up on LinkedIn.

Rebekah Hay Brown

Yoga quickly went from being a weekly class to a lifestyle approach in the mid-90s for Rebekah Hay-Brown. She originally began practicing Astanga Vinyasa and went on to experience many other forms of Yoga. Rebekah gave up her former career in the fashion industry and journalism to teach in 2005, first in Barcelona and now in London. She holds a Yoga Alliance 200 teaching qualification from YogaCampus and is a British Wheel of Yoga Accredited Teacher. Wanting to offer people with health considerations more opportunities to practice and benefit from yoga, Rebekah has completed advanced studies in Yoga Therapy.

Rebekah teaches Pregnancy Yoga and regular weekly Yoga classes.

Justine Attias

Justine initially discovered the joys of Yoga during her first pregnancy and puts her calm disposition and easy home birth down to the things she learnt at her pregnancy Yoga classes. Amazed by its power Justine continued to explore Yoga after her daughter was born. That was over 25 years ago and during that time Yoga has always had a role in Justine's life. With a background in Latin and Cuban dance Justine is interested in energy and movement. Her interest in energy led her to study Chinese medicine and her fascination with the flow of energy and movement led her to study Yoga. She has worked with many well known teachers and continues to study with one of her early teachers- Faustomaria at Innergy in North London. Her first teaching qualification was the Sivananda TTC in 2002.

Justine teaches weekly Yoga classes.

Charlotte Watson

Charlotte is a primary school teacher with a keen interest in Yoga. She trained with Louise on the Radiant Child Programme and together they have run some fun holiday workshops with children aged seven to twelve and workshops for teenagers.
