"Hear the silence, see the Silence, taste, touch and smell the Silence.
Silence is truth, Silence is God,
Silence is the peace that passeth all understanding.
Close your eyes and become one with the Silence"

About Yoga-Yoga
Louise Cashin a former sales and marketing businesswoman established Yoga-Yoga in December 2001. Her mission is

"To bring the life enhancing benefits of Yoga to the attention of as many people as possible either directly through teaching Yoga classes or indirectly through personal development coaching and other related teaching/practices."

A bit about Louise-a personal story

With over 17years experience in the dynamic telecommunications and IT industry; I have worked for technology start-up organisations as well as large, established companies at a time of rapid change. My roles have covered all aspects and levels within sales and marketing management and I have held senior executive and board level positions.

So how did I become a Yoga teacher?

Following an accident in the summer of 1993, which left me with serious spinal injuries, I first came across complementary medicine and alternative health practises after all else seemed to fail me. After a chiropractor successfully put my pelvis "back" and aromatherapy massage assisted with relaxing my muscles, which were taught and tense from over compensating for my injuries; Yoga found its way into my life and every day I gratefully embrace the benefits I have derived from it. Not only do I thank Yoga for aligning my spine correctly, bringing strength and flexibility to my body, but also for an overall experience of well-being derived from having: -

More energy
Peace of mind
Lack of illness
Balance both physically and mentally

Throughout the 1990's I worked very hard, in an executive position, for an international technology company. It was extremely stressful; lots of travel, lots of change and demanding investors. I used my Yoga practice to successfully manage the stresses and strains of this environment.

In 2001 I left that environment behind me and that gave me an opportunity to consider what my priorities in life were and how I could use my skills and experience in a different way. Throughout this time I was encouraged by friends and family to formally qualify as a Yoga teacher to spread the life enhancing techniques of Yoga to others. Whilst stress management and Yoga in the workplace has been my initial focus, I firmly believe that Yoga can help all.

The core of my teaching is based on my Sivananda Yoga teacher training as I believe the Sivananda method provides a complete approach to Yoga. However, I tend to integrate techniques and styles from the other main traditions of Yoga to provide for the specific needs of an individual or group. I have further qualifications to teach Pre and Postnatal Yoga, this training is with Birthlight with the renowned Dr. Francoise Freedman and I have also worked with Dr Gowri Motha (Gentle Birth Method) Since 2003 I have specialised in this area completing further qualifications to work with birthing mothers.

I trained with Shakta Kaur Khalsa (senior Kundalini Yoga teacher) and completed both Level 1 and 2 of the Radiant Child Programme and with Swami Saradananda to qualify as a teacher of Meditation. I attend regular teacher intensives with acclaimed teachers –my major influencers are senior Iyengar Yoga teachers Judith Hanson Lasata and Donna Farhi (the latter I studied with for three weeks in August 2006 to complete an advanced Yoga studies and teaching course)

In addition to Yoga, I am a personal coach; providing coaching in the area of stress management, work-life balance and healthy lifestyle. I am also an Ayurvedic Nutrition Advisor and run cooking workshops and health/dietary consultation. Please feel free to email me directly at Yoga-Yoga if you require further information.

Yoga-Yoga Teachers

Colwyn Elder

Colwyn’s Yoga journey began 8 years ago with Astanga Yoga. Having given up dance years before, she had been unable to find another form of exercise she truly enjoyed. In Astanga she rediscovered grace in the structure of the form and it challenged her physically. An unexpected benefit was the resulting shift in energy and sense of quietude.

In 1999 she moved to Cape Town and began to practice Kundalini Yoga and 2 years later completed the teacher’s training with Pritam Khaur Khalsa.

Soon after, a move to Tokyo brought her practice full circle with a return to the Astanga form and teachers who inspired her to travel to India to spend time with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois the father of Astanga Yoga.

Since then Colwyn has attended teacher’s training intensives with some truly wonderful teachers including Russel Govinda Kai, Manju Jois, Mark Darby, Rod Stryker and Tias Little, and in 2006 she graduated from the Life Centre Teacher Training with a British Wheel of Yoga accredited diploma.

In May 2005 her son Luke Edan was born and she feels extremely fortunate to have had the presence of yoga throughout her pregnancy and transition into motherhood. It has been a consistent provider of solace, and (though her husband may think she is nuts) talking her baby through Savasana at bedtime has given the family many a peaceful night’s sleep.

Colwyn teaches Pregnancy Yoga, Improvers Yoga classes.

Justine Attias

Justine initially discovered the joys of Yoga during her first pregnancy and puts her calm disposition and easy home birth down to the things she learnt at her pregnancy Yoga classes. Amazed by its power Justine continued to explore Yoga after her daughter was born. That was over 25 years ago and during that time Yoga has always had a role in Justine's life. With a background in Latin and Cuban dance Justine is interested in energy and movement. Her interest in energy led her to study Chinese medicine and her fascination with the flow of energy and movement led her to study Yoga. She has worked with many well known teachers and continues to study with one of her early teachers- Faustomaria at Innergy in North London. Her first teaching qualification was the Sivananda TTC in 2002.

Justine teachers Beginners and Improver's Yoga classes.
