The Beginner’s Course
I like the fact that you explain things carefully and in an easy-to-understand way. I also like your ‘attention to detail’ – that you’ve instilled the importance of getting the posture right and that can be fulfilling in itself! You also help and guide on a one-to-one basis with encouragement and positive comments. I always think the time goes fast and I could do another half an hour! I’ve learnt to see the postures I would have said I didn’t like doing previously as those that have made me more aware of the areas I need to work more on most, and not something I’m just not good at. Even one class a week has much more impact physically and mentally than one would expect. I already feel stronger and I’ve slept so well on a Thursday night! So a big thank you for a wonderful course – Beverly (Beginners Course)
It [Yoga] is the most effective and fulfilling exercise I have ever done - you feel the benefits on the inside as well as on the outside, both to your body and mind. Charlotte (Beginners)
It is a proper work out as well as being extremely relaxing. Previous classes I have been to have not really taught me any of the fundamentals, or been beneficial physically. This is important to time poor attendees! – Caroline (Beginners Course)
As a complete novice I found it very useful and enjoyable; I feel it has made a real difference to my life. Friendly instruction, no pressure to outdo others, but most of all the benefits after each lesson of feeling relaxed, more flexible and “taller”. –Deborah (Beginners Course)
It {the course} was well structured to teach the basic positions week by week with a few extra bits thrown in. Never enough to put you off, just enough to make it a challenge. The venue was great, especially when you first arrived and lay down to relax, looking up at the vast ceiling – very relaxing in the evening sun. Loved the way each class made you feel about 2 inches taller.
Everything was explained very clearly from theory to posture and when to breathe! Every session ran smoothly although no two were the same. Always started on time and never finished late. Never seemed rushed – had time for everyone Always made sure anyone with an injury knew to be careful or not to do that specific posture. Helped anyone struggling – always spoke quietly so the whole class didn’t hear. Made you feel you had done well. Gave you confidence to try a posture even if it looked a bit crazy. – Teresa (Beginners Course)
I've really enjoyed your classes; you are such a gifted teacher! Gianna (Beginners Course)
Our Weekly classes
As a massage therapist I find these classes very important to maintain my suppleness and improve my core strength, I use a lot of the breathing we do and the movement when treating my clients. – Anna (Improvers)
Well organised, very good instruction, interesting varied and challenging. There is also something special about doing yoga in the Landmark venue. – Lisa (Improvers)
Prior to taking up yoga, exercise was a chore and relaxation was an effort. I also had a lot of stress in my life, and yoga has really helped me manage that: The classes themselves feel like pure indulgence yet the sense of release that comes with them is something that I have rarely experienced with any other form of exercise…. Yoga has truly enriched my way of life, and brings me peace day to day, something I think that is very hard to find in this era of manic work and home life. With yoga, I feel that I have gained a better way of life, thanks to a wonderful guide, Louise. Rosie (Improvers)
The challenging postures and Louise’s style friendly and comforting is what I really like. Never too pushy and allows us to go at our own speed and always explains the correct technique. Classes are not too big and I do enjoy it when Louise walks through the group and offers little pieces of advice and pushes or gently pulls us into shape. - Chris (Improvers)
I'm delighted to have found your yoga classes. …..…Walking into the yoga class is a bit like entering a haven - I feel peace descend upon me. I'm not an exercise freak and never have been, so I was surprised to find that I did not 'bunk' a single class! I looked forward to them during the day, and was peeved if I had to miss one, so it was great for me to find exercise that I both enjoyed AND looked forward to. Catherine (Improvers)
The Pregnancy Yoga Courses
Hugely helpful in giving me some feeling of control and peace of mind. I found the way Louise built rapport and gained trust meant that we all felt able to ask any questions, try all the different techniques. - Jacquie (Pregnancy course)
Very helpful. I felt that the weekly class helped me focus on and work with my changing body, as well as giving me the time out to relax and enjoy my pregnancy with other ladies. I also found that the classes maintained – and even increased my physical strength, which I was worried about losing during my pregnancy I liked the opportunity to work with other pregnant ladies and feel that we were on a journey together. I also liked the asanas that may help to position the baby effectively (such as the figure-of-eight movements) and those that help with my upper arm and shoulder strength. The breathing work was also fantastic, particularly as I’ve noticed that this isn’t taught so much in antenatal classes. Louise always explains the asanas clearly and was able to engage with ladies with different experiences of yoga and at different stages of pregnancy. She was also able to explain the physiological reasoning behind the asanas, which is important in pregnancy - Joanna (Pregnancy Course)
Really helpful, came away with a lot of good tips! A chance to meet and chat with other expectant mums, simple stretches and exercises that I can also do at home and good to take time out each week to relax.- Rebecca (Pregnancy course)
Preparing for Birth with Partners Workshop
Howel and I discussed it last night and he said he found the partner class really helpful as it gave him an idea as to what would help me in the labour, eg the different positions I might like to be in and the breathing techniques that would be good for me to use. He said that it gave him more confidence and I think he felt more prepared about the situation he was going to find himself in when I was giving birth! It was also a good opportunity to meet other fathers.
I found the partners evening very relaxed and really enjoyed it, it was good from my point of view for Howel to see what we had covered in the yoga class and also interesting to learn the different ways he could support me in the labour if I wanted to experiment with birthing positions (I did actually lean against Howel quite a lot and he knew to expect this following the class!) Also when I had discovered the joys of gas and air and was not really 'with it' I remember Howel telling me about my breathing and what I should be doing and I asked him how he knew what I should be doing - he seemed very in control and obviously quite a lot of the information had sunk in!!! – Mary (pregnancy)
The Postnatal Yoga courses
Fantastic-a way to ease back into exercise, baby friendly and a joy to come along and be with other ladies – Sheena (Postnatal)
Informality and relaxed sessions- no pressure! I liked meeting other mum’s and Audrey liked meeting other babies – Nicola (postnatal)
The post natal class has been fantastic too. It has really been the only thing I have been able to do for myself since Rosie was born and I was quite sad to get to the end of the course. I think we made so much progress in those few weeks, building up some strength and flexibility again. I think Rosie really enjoyed it too, listening to your melodic voice and watching all the activity. The small class size and everyone's friendly approach was great too. There was this sense on both courses that we were all in it together with something in common and it was lovely to meet such nice people- Kirsten (postnatal) |
